Guiding Principles
Safety
Prioritize safety by establishing trust and creating a safe container for healing and growth to occur. Change is not possible when we don’t feel safe. Anyone who has ever felt unsafe knows the value of true safety.
Authenticity
Letting go of who we think we should be and embracing who we really are is essential. Therapy is the place for crying, laughing, cussing, praying, and screaming. Any authentic reaction is welcome here.
Acceptance
True acceptance and belonging are welcome here. Compassion and empathy are demonstrated over judgment and shame.
Autonomy
You know yourself far better than anyone else. Alternative perspectives and desired skills are offered for support, but YOU are the main character of your story.
